Christmas way up north in Scandinavia! Lennart Helje's pictures bring such light and peace to me......and I think nisser (gnomes) MUST look like the ones he draw!
I love this artist and have two post cards that Swedish friend have sent me. However, I'm surprised there is no info on him anywhere. I have not heard of the book A Polar Bears Tale. When did he live? Where is he from?
I know he is Swedish born 1940 i Lima, and now lives in Växjö, Sweden. Before becoming an full-time artis he was in the advertising business. He mostly draws gnomes, has designed Swedish Christmas stamps and Christmas cards for UNICEF.
And no....A Polar Bear's Tale is not a book...that's my blog :O)
I just discovered Helje and find his work so wonderful. Do you know if he just does postcards? I would love to have something larger to frame but have had no luck locating anything.
Yes, isn't he wonderful? I know that he did postcards last Christmas but I haven't seen any cards since then. I've tried to look for poster and postcards in Danish...but couldn't find any. SORRY, I could help!
Er du dansk...svensk? Thanks for the info...maybe is was that book Alexandra was reffering to?! I can see the Danish book for sale on the Internet, but no images.I would love to see it!
Jeg er dansk - I have looked for the book on the net, but it's not for sale anymore. I am going to borrow it from the local library and see it. I found a little picture of the book on google , searching om the swedish title.
