'Go Visit Weekend'

'Bakkehuset' (the house on the hill) is a real pearl!
Once it was outside town - today it is a part of Copenhagen town.
Such a wonderful place.....and when you go there, time -
and the hectic urban life - stops

In the early 19th century Bakkehuset was the home of
the literary historian, critic, writer, poet & magazine editor
named Knud Lyne Rahbek and his wife Kamma (neé Heger).
Kamma was well read, spoke several language and was
a keen letter-writer. She was a creative nature, as was
expressed not least in the artistic boxes seen below. And
she was a beloved hostess for all the guests that came
to visit: Bakkehuset was a place in which the great
cultural personalities of the Danish Golden Age meet
and consort with each other: Adam Gottlob Oehlenschläger,
H. C. Andersen, and Jens Immanuel Baggesen -
just to mention a few of them....
