Our local state art gallery included the seventh painting in your page in a recent exhibition. It's quite a vibrant picture, really, and deserves a better photo. I believe the subject is the French Queen Claude, Duchess of Brittany, telling bardic tales which weave a spell of diabolical enchantment. Her clawed tiara suggests it, perhaps, as do the dolmens of her homeland.

Every art work by Edgar Maxence is incredibly beautiful, so I can imagine how wonderful this painting must be! And you are so right...it is not a good photo! I wish I had a better one. The Internet is a great media, but when it comes to art, it has its limitations!!
