Kastanjer - chestnuts

I met a little girl and her mother. The girl picked up a
few chestnuts and the mother very soon said: 'Oh, I think you've
got enough chestnuts now'...well, I just looked at her with my
mouth open, thinking: 'Can one get enough chestnuts??'
Hmmmm, I can't...aaand I'm glad my mother never said that!
Chestnuts are to be enjoyed...and so are Sundays ;O)

When autumn comes and smell the chestnuts cooking with the smell of charcoal, my mood changes, suddenly everything takes on another hue. I don't know what it is but is like stepping into another dimension, another time more distant, simple and humble.

Have you read the pillars of the earth? early in the book the characters spend a winter night in the heart of the chestnut forests i i only have to eat turnips. It's tough but extremely realistic and natural, authentic.

Best regards!

I've never read the pillars of the earth, but I've heard about it...but I think I will! Thanks!
