Winter in the center of Copenhagen...

The canal - Frederiksholms kanal by

The (normally) underwater sculpture by Suste Bonnén, 1992, of
'Agnete og Havmanden' - 'Agnete and the Merman' - a fairy tale
by Hans Christian Andersen, 1833. These are my photos

Hi Maria! The first woman is a wife of a fisherman...in the older days fish were sold here at this spot...

Hi Ulla...'normally' the sculptures are 'under water'...but now some of them can be seen above the water surface...strang! I just love it...but well, I love winter!

Oh, yes you can see them...it has the most wonderful effect...almost mermaid-like...and the sculptures change so much depending on the water conditions, weather etc.
