Lindevang Church

I've often passed this church...Lindevang Kirke...and thought it to be old..maybe 1700s

When I yesterday stepped inside I was quite
surprised: it was a NEW church! Finished in 1930!
The architects are Thomas Havning and Anton Frederiksen.
The fesco is by the painter Jens Urup (1954)

There is a model of a ship in many Danish churches
- no matter if the church is located by the sea or not.
The tradition goes back to the 1500s, but the ships
really became popular in the 19th century

When I was in church, the organist was practicing on the organ, so I sat there for quite long time...wonderful!
