We have a HOT weekend here i Denmark = I'm lazy
and haven't blogged a lot today. But I will tomorrow.
..and I'll blog only Danish stuff: Paintings, design..and..
whatever comes into my mind! Now I've warned you,
but I promise you I'll never (I repeat: NEVER) post
the painting you see above EVER again...haven't we
seen it a 1000 times before? I have! Anyway, it is
Peder Severin Krøyer: 'Sommeraften på Skagens
Sønderstrand', 1893/'Summer Evening on the
Southern Beach'

Ole Restrup's book 'Odin and Thor' (1953), illustrated by Ib Spang Olsen.

Above you see the world tree Yggdrasil, giants and gods. The Midgard serpent, which spans the entire earth, sticks its head up into giants, moon illuminated the world. The god Heimdal is walking on the rainbow bridge Bifrost which goes from Asgard to Midgard (from heaven to earth). Above the clouds you see the god of thunder Thor in his chariot pulled by goats.
