Autumnal Equinox.....and full moon!

Happy Autumnal Equinox
and happy full moon!

Isaac Levitan: Dusk. Moon, 1898

It's a full moon tonight and the Autumnal Equinox is upon us.
The equinox (the 23th) signals the end of the summer months. It
is the point where nights reach the same length as days ...
from now on until the Winter Solstice the nights will grow
longer and longer....

As winter draws nearer I feel sad as the loss of the lazy, hot days of summer but at the height of summer I look forward to the dark evenings, candles, flickering fires and cosy duvets!

What a beautiful photo of the autumn leaves ...did you take it Mette? I do hope that your equinox is treating you more gently than our one here; we are experiencing such wild weather; I don't mind it for myself but I feel so sorry for the farmers and their animals.

Stripeybea: You're right; there's two sides to Equinox...bye to one season - hello to another. I'm a autumn/winter person, so I really feel a lot of energy as it gets colder and colder :=)

Marilyn: No, the autumn leaves are not one of my photos...but the coulours are beautiful! I hope the weather was/is not a bad as expected!!
