Búri is licked out of a salty ice-block by the cow Auðumbla in this illustration from an 18th-century Icelandic manuscript. Búri (or Buri...or Ymir) was the first god in Norse mythology. He is the father of Borr and grandfather of Odin.
I love the mythology of you are so beautiful. I followed a long blog land of you, every image contained dazzled me. I loved to accompany their stories, then disappeared, but I miss him. The culture is very rich and you magic.
Thanks, Marcus! Oh, yes...I remember when I was a child my mother told me these stories of the old norse/vikings...every culture has its own story of how the world was made and how to interact...and how the world works. So interesting!
