THankyou SO much for these great images! These women are so dear to me! Violet Oakley, Jessie Wilcox Smith and Elizabeth Shippen Green in so many ways really paved the way for women in the illustration field. In some cases having to "swear" not to marry or have children to get an education. Violet Oakley painted some great murals in the Pennsylvania State Capital (close to my home in Amaerica)

Hi Amy...I'm glad you liked the posts. These women were indeed amazing, and they stood out as you say! One can't but amire these pioneer women!
I actually saw some of the murals on the internet...just wonderful!!!
