'Wynken Blynken and Nod'

'Wynken Blynken and Nod' is a popular poem for children -
it was written in 1889 by by Eugene Field (1850-1895).
The poem is a fantasy bed-time story of three fishermen
sailing and fishing in the stars. Their boat is a wooden shoe.
The fishermen symbolize a sleepy child's blinking eyes
and nodding head. Read it here, ladies and gents!

dear mette,
what a lovely surprise to see and read one of the books my mother read to me, over and over, at bedtime as a child. it was something i hadn't thought of in many years and made me think of my mother with love.

Hi Marilyn!
A story can be like an old, dear friend; so wonderful to see (hear) again...sometimes I wish I could go back in time and visit old places and people who are no longer...
I didn't no this story before...I've never seen it in Danish - but the illusratiobs are wonderful and so is the story/poem
