According to Wikipedia Postage stamps have been issued
in New Zealand since around the 18th to 20th of July 1855
with the "Chalon head" stamps figuring Queen Victoria.
The design was based on a full face portrait of the Queen
in her state robes at the time of her coronation in 1837,
by Alfred Edward Chalon (1780-1860)

Wow. Fantastic monster there. The urbanity monster striding forth, as it does in most cities of the world. Nice hand-drawn banner too. Something like this image, http://EN.WahooArt.com/A55A04/w.nsf/OPRA/BRUE-7Z9RQ8 , by French painter Fernand Léger, maybe effective painted large on a wall too, acknowledged as a copy of course.
