'Diary of a Wombat',
by Jackie French 2002
illustrated by Bruce Whatley
Purchase here: UK & US

'Diary of a Wombat' is the diary entries of a wombat over
the course of a week, and how the wombat discovers the
joys of being a pest to a nearby family who will give in
to a persistent wombat. It is all told from the adorable
wombat’s perspective, so we are able to hear about its
battle with the welcome mat (which the wombat won),
the wombat’s discovery that destroying property is a good
way to get attention and carrots, and how to train your
family to learn when to give carrots and when to give oats

Probably one of my favorite books by Bruce Whatley.
Oh, cute!
This book looks so lovely...the illustration where the wombat is sitting outside the locked door really made me laugh ;O) One can't but love this fat, sweet fellow!
