This large tree in the Viking Age Överhogdal tapestries
may be Yggdrasil with Gullinkambi (or the hawk Veðrfölnir)
at the top. In the Poetic Edda poem Völuspá, Gullinkambi
is one of the three roosters whose crowing is foretold to
signify the beginning of the events of Ragnarök. The other
two roosters are Fjalar in the wood Gálgviðr, and an
unnamed soot-red rooster in Hel. Gullinkambi counts
every minute of the day, and makes sure that the
Norns stay awake and never stop their work
