Käte Lassen, ca. 1908
link
Käte Lassen was born in 1880 in Flensburg. She was
actually christened Bertha Katharina, but she used her
nickname Käte entire life. She had her studio in Flensburg
but travelled to Denmark several times; to Copenhagen,
to Klitmøller, and to Skagen. She was inspired by the
Norwegian artist EdvardMunch and the Danish Skagen
painters Anna and Michael Ancher , Christian Krohg and
P.S. Krøyer. Especially Anna Ancher's pictures made
a deep impression on her. I'm smitten with her art!
